Eligibility	The candidate should have passed 10+2 system of examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / biology. The admission to this course is as per the guidelines applicable to other Honours courses in the University and as per the merit list of Common Entrance Test PU - CET(U.G.) examination conducted by the Panjab University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics combination.

Fees	Registration & Enrollment fee as per Panjab university rules [2023-24]
Eligibility	See M.Phill/Ph.D. Prospectus 2023. Scholars with Masters in Life Sciences and having taken biotechnology courses are eligible to apply. Additionally they should have cleared a National level test like CSIR-NET, Panjab University PhD entrance test, etc.
Remarks	The supervisors specializations are available on the department website and prospective scholars are encouraged to discuss the research proposals and registration process with them directly.

Name of the Course	MSc (Honours) Biotechnology
Duration	2 years
Seats	30 (B.Sc. ongoing students+ 5 seats General , 2-SC and Additional seats)
Fees	GEN: 1st year Rs. 50255/-. 2nd year Rs 51505/- [2023-24]
Eligibility	Students who have passed the B.Sc.(Hons.) in Biotechnology examination from Biotechnology Department, Panjab University will be eligible for admission to the 1st year of the MSc Biotechnology, without the entrance test. In addition seats are available for the students who have passed BSc in Biotechnology as elective or vocational course from other institutes. The admission to 1st Year of the course for such students is based on entrance Test (PU-CET-PG) conducted by Panjab University and UG merit. More information will be made available in the admission prospectus
Remarks	The students undergo a compulsory six months dissertation project in the last semester of the program to impart extensive hands on research experience to the students.
